Very disappointed.

We booked a hut in Lower Sabie Camp. What a disappointment. Only shelves. No cubbards. Only a basin with cold water. No shade where you can braai. The road is going around this hut no silence. This is really a disappointment. We will leave tomorrow. Pay our money back please.

I know it would be hard to convince new people to skip Kruger and do the smaller parks with highly skilled guides...but I might have been convinced if you had told me this.

Kruger is way too big for encountering wild animals

The Kruger National Park is incredibly vast, which can make wildlife spotting more challenging. A better option, in my experience, is visiting private game parks. These parks are smaller, and the staff typically have a deeper understanding of the animals’ locations, making it easier to see them up close and enjoy more intimate encounters.

One thing I didn’t enjoy about Kruger was the extensive burned areas. I was informed that the vegetation is intentionally burned to increase animal visibility for tourists, but it felt unnatural and detracted from the experience. Additionally, because of the park's massive size, tour guides often seem rushed, giving you less time to take photographs and fully immerse yourself in the beauty of nature.

We saw less animals comparing to Tanzania Parks, we have been in november and are too many bushes, the animals hide better.

Kruger seemed a lot like Yellowstone National Park in the States...a lot of people, and it was very crowded even though we were not in the peak time.

South Africa's game parks are not known for scenic beauty and that's not why you go. There is a lot of wildlife and although we saw herds of elephant, we did not see any predators at all. Unless the animals are close to the roads, you don't see them and being such a vast area, we did not see much variety. We only stayed in the south of the park at Berg-en-dal and the centre and north may be different.

Kruger is fantastic for wildlife but becoming too crowded and hectic to enjoy the experience. It's a good place to visit for first-timers but tick it off your list and head somewhere more adventurous next time.
