The Nile and the scenery were gorgeous. Our safari camp was also beautiful, and local youth sang and performed traditional dances around our fire at night. Hippos roamed around our cabin. Wow!

You'll be able to see an amazing variety of wildlife from the river, and the views from the top of the falls are beautiful. I camped near by and left during sunrise, one of the most beautiful sunrises i ever saw.

One full day packed with wild life and scenery that only Africa can offer
There is genuine feeling of visiting Africa of the past when experiencing Murchison Falls National Park. The wildlife is plentiful and the tourist are few. It is such a large geographical area that there is a sense of being in a remote part of the world. There is both simple & inexpensive as well as upscale accommodations available in the park. There was freedom to drive you own vehicle around or have a guide take you. The boat trip up the river to the falls is well worth the 3 or 4 hours. The encounters with the Hippos and river creatures was exciting. As a professional photographer / videographer there was plenty of opportunity to captures images that will forever stimulate the imagination.

wonderful birding on an boat trip from the lodge to the lake (little boat).

The immense power of the Nile going over Murchinson falls is breathtaking. There is plenty of wild game with Lake Albert and Congolese mountains in the distance.

It's hard to beat African wildlife, zero fences, the source of the Nile, and a torrential rainstorm.
While it was depressing to hear how four decades of war had decimated the local fauna, it was exhilarating to see wildlife rebounding at this preserve. We went without a guide and had a great time. We never spotted a lion, but we caught sight of just about everything else, from water buffalo to giraffes. A beautiful place.

comfort, while sipping Nile Beer and enjoying the cool river breeze. The boat takes you to the very base of the spectacular falls before returning downriver to your starting point. In addition to the park, the drive from Kampala to Murchison is a chance to see a cross section of the Ugandan countryside, and to enjoy lunch and a walk around one of the towns en route. Overall, my trip to Murchison Falls with Red Chili was a highlight of my time in Uganda. Photos on flickr under my username: kdriese.
