Tried hard to accomodate for my needs and my request.
We went with my brother ,his wife and 2 other persons, appreciated the small group numbers. We were blessed to see all animals on our wish list except Cheetah. It was amazing. Andrew our guide went out of his way to show us animals and teach us about animal behaviour. He has a great deal to organise and manage over the 2 weeks ,he did it well! It was getting a bit hot towards the end of August so July may be a better month. Be prepared to have days of travel from one National Park to the other on dirt roads and plenty of dust. The positive is very few tourists and safari vehicles chasing the animals for viewing. We all agreed it was a great adventure!
We experienced an interesting program, saw a wide range of wild animals and beautiful landscapes.
Communication with the tour guide (= the company owner) was excellent, he knew a lot and explained it to us, and he made us aware of animals and plants which we would not have noticed. The service was - according to the tour character of a tented tour- very good, the expectations were more than fulfilled.

Enjoyable and affordable way to enjoy a safari in the Zambian bush
Our family of four (two adults and kids aged 15 and 12) did a 6 day safari to Kafue with Adventure Purists in August 2018.
We're not usually campers, but the high cost of accommodation in Zambia is beyond our budget, so this was the only affordable option.
Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the camping proved to be. The tents are in good condition, and having the use of a collapsible stretcher bed (which comes with a mattress) rather than sleeping on the ground makes all the difference in terms of comfort. We brought our own sleeping bags and pillows, but these can also be hired from the company (as they take up a lot of luggage space). You are expected to help with erecting and dismantling the tents, but this isn't an onerous task and the kids in particular thought that it was great fun.
The camp sites we stayed at were well laid out, with good communal bathrooms and flush toilet facilities. The bathrooms were kept clean, and there was always hot water and toilet paper available (not always a given). There's no escaping the fact that it's a nuisance to have to trek to the bathroom if you need to go to the toilet in the night, but that's the nature of camping (rather than 'glamping' with en suite bathroom facilities) and for this reason, you should be sure to pack a torch - one of the torches mounted on a headband is ideal.
The food was standard bush catering, with generous portions and some degree of choice with the picnic-style breakfasts and lunches. As the vehicle is equipped with a fridge, the staff were able to buy and store fresh meat and vegetables en route, and it was nice to see that there was very little use of canned food. The highlight was a braai (BBQ), with some of the best steak I've ever eaten. All the cooking and washing up is done by the staff.
Water and fruit juice is included in the price, but soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are for your own account, and you'll be given an opportunity to buy these before you leave town.
The driver/guide and cook were friendly, helpful and competent, and the driver was safe and cautious. The vehicle was extremely comfortable, and as it pulls a trailer (which is where the tents, catering equipment and luggage is stored), there's lots of space. The vehicle has windows that can be removed, which maximises your game viewing and photographic opportunities. There are also power sockets in the vehicle so that you can charge important items like camera batteries (be sure to bring your own chargers).
If you're considering this tour, then I would strongly recommend that you pack a selection of clothes with long sleeves and trousers. Usually you'd think that you'll only need these in the bush after sunset to minimise the risk of mosquito bites, but Kafue is tsetse fly territory, and those critters are huge, tenacious and pack a painful bite.
Finally, make the most of the experience and the memories by bringing the best camera equipment you can afford - yu won't regret it.

Adventure Purist - the name is programme!
As it has been our first safari we really appreciated the experienced organisation and the well founded knowledge of the team. The advantage of long-term insight of all team members in combination with the enthusiasm the guides shared with us was tremendous.
Besides the inspiring game drives the accommodation and the provided meals have been really outstanding.

A perfect organization and a friendly and competent advice!
We have had very good experiences with Adventure Purists in the past. Christa has chosen the Msandile Lodge for us in South Luangwa. This lodge is beautifully located right on the Luangwa. The service and the food were very good, as was our guide. The wildlife sightings were outstanding and exceeded our expectations. We saw several leopards every day. In Lower Zambezi, we were traveling with Moses and Joseph, our guides from Adventure Purists. Both planned the daily schedule in consultation with us and were excellent at observing the animals. We both held each other dear; the relationship was warm and friendly. In addition, Moses cooked excellently and Joseph is a very good driver. The 'magic woodland' and a pack of wild dogs that we saw almost every day were unforgettable experiences. Thank you very much for the 14-day safari, which we will never forget! We had so many amazing moments like never before! The next safari with Adventure Purists is already in planning.

Adventure Purist offers very special and well-organised tours, specifically in Zambia.
Last I have been on an Raft Safari, concentrated on Kafue NP und Lower Zambezi NP. In addition to safari by car, we rafted down the Kafue and the Zambezi river and went wild camping with elephants around - the sound of hippos, hyena and lion during the night - great! We saw a lot wildlife. Plus explanations from experienced guides.
The tour was very well organised and, and cook and catering were also very good.
Adventure Purists respond quickly and resolve issues, an example: My flight to Zambia was cancelt and I was arriving with a 24h delay - the transfer to the group was immediately researched and an offer organised so that I could join the group without missing any part of the trip.
I have been travelling with Adventure Purists for several times and it is always great fun and a wonderful Africa-Experience!

Excellent safari with Bundu Safari’s
We all had an incredible time on our safari in Kafue National Park and got to see amazing wildlife including the very rare pangolin.
Our guides, Moses & Joseph were amazing, right from the start they were helpful, informative and had everything planned perfectly. They both have so much knowledge and shared appropriately,
The camping was great, comfortable and even got to have hot showers each night.
The food (especially vegan) was exceptional and they went to great lengths to ensure we had wholesome, tasty meals throughout. We were so impressed with the effort they went too.
Moses & Joseph were able to connect with us, share stories and laughter. We would highly recommend them both to any group. We were very lucky to have them sharing their knowledge & experience with us.

A great and well-cooperating tour operator, that will plan your stay around your wishes!
Hi!
Recently me and my girlfriend visited Zambia for our first time, and had our first ever safari there! We booked via Adventure Purists/Bundu Safari's, and we couldn't be happier with our choice! We first wanted to book for Kafue National Park, but Christa (our lovely contact person) recommended another tour which would be easier accessable during this time of the year. We simply told them what we wanted, for how long, and any additional requests, and they made it happen!
Of course we booked this trip hoping to see beautiful nature and amazing animals. (We definitely did see everything we wanted, including the entire Big 5!) But having two of these amazing guides with us really made our trip complete. Moses and Joseph are two wonderful guys that really know what they’re doing and talking about. They make a great duo who can cook, drive, care, spot even the most well hidden animals, and tell us everything about all we want to know like behavior, characteristics, looks and so much more of all the animals we found. Please take good care of such amazing safari guides, as you probably won’t find them of this kind very often. They always asked if we could see everything back in the truck, they asked if there were specific species we should look after. They asked when we wanted to leave, eat, come back to camp, take on extra activities or just chill a bit. Super kind, caring, funny, sweet and pure people. We absolutely would recommend booking with these guys if someone books a safari with Bundu.
It was amazing seeing all these different species together and in the wild, and the hunt to always spot even more was really exciting! We think we got really lucky with everything we found, and are really appreciative about being able to make such a unique trip with very unique people! Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity, and we will definitely see you in the future!
Kind regards,
Babette and Jari
