3 day classic safari - perfection
When we booked our flights to visit our friends in the greater Jo'burg area we were suggested to go on a safari while in S.A. We did a bit of searching around and asked for a few quotes, one of them from KrugerPark.com. While some of the other providers returned us impersonal emails, Andy from KrugerPark.com actually personally called me and asked for our expectations and wishes. He then sent a very competitive quote by email and followed up to see if all the details were correct for us etc. We decided to bite the bullet and I'm glad we did!
For the safari (organised by Outlook Safaris) we were picked up from our hotel by super friendly drivers and driven to Skukuza. On the way we already saw zebras, kudus, rhinos and giraffes (at a petrol station!). We were looked after extremely well throughout the visit and given very friendly advice and schedule by the team. The bungalow we stayed in was clean and did the job well - not that we spent more time there than for sleeping; busy schedule. As an aside, the restaurant and shop on site are very reasonably priced considering they're the only places you can buy anything in a 100 mile radius; no need to pack emergency rations.
As for the game drives, we had several drivers and types of trips during which we spotted so many animals and sights I lost count. Of the big five we only missed a leopard (by a few minutes, several times) but did see an impala in a tree, ripped into two parts by a leopard. My daughter was very impressed! She was also impressed by the lions, giraffes, mongooses, warthogs, hippos, rhinos, crocodiles, elephants and all the other wonderful animals.
Considering that we had no expectations beforehand we were super impressed and a bit disappointed we only packed our smartphone cameras with us. Good thing then that FJ (one of the guides) is a professional photographer and took amazing photos with his super camera - and all the photos can be seen on the Outlook Safaris' FB page.
All in all I would very, very warmly recommend booking a safari with KrugerPark.com.

good experience
it was a very nice and good experience, we would like to thank Pascal a lot in the communications and service.
At the Skukuza rest camp, Debbie was the best hostess, and FJ and Mathew were great at the games drive

Everything but a Unicordn
We stayed at Jock Safari Lodge for our trip to Kruger National Park and that decision made all of the difference. The facilities were wonderful, the staff was outstanding, and our ranger (Jacob) was so amazing that we jokingly asked if he would be showing us a unicorn - since he'd already shown us the Big Five, the Ugly Five plus many other things everyday that we were there it made sense to think he could find a mythical animal too.
The days involve a 5am wake-up call, 5:30am coffee, and out on a drive in the dark to look for absolutely amazing animals. Then breakfast - lunch - tea and an evening drive before dinner. Read the reviews that talk about chilly mornings and evenings and plan accordingly based on time of year.
Our 4 day/3 night stay was just about right. The size of the lodge (12 luxury huts) limits what you can do between drives. The rangers do a great job of communicating where the animals are so no two days were alike.
We worked through a broker for Kruger accommodations and he was thrilled that this property was available for us - we were thrilled as well

Helpful and cheery, variable in communications
We did self cater, self drive to Kruger.
Service was helpful and upbeat. Booking consultant was very enthusiastic and friendly. Information regarding the cost conservation fees for foreigners could have been more specific. Generally, given we had an unfortunate cancellation the outcome has been favourable and Kruger.com assisted in the credit.
We enjoyed our Kruger visit.

Overall, a very professional and smoothly run operation
The standards of accommodation and travel arranged for us were excellent and met all expectations. The Kruger park lodge at Hazyview was probably not the best choice for us on a short stay as it more suitable to long stay, self catering families than a couple on tour.
A minor discrepancy with a car rental company over billing still not resolved.

Call it the Tourist tax on pricing, especially when you see what you get for it
The safari's and guides themselves were great. Thank God I only did the 2 night, 3 day stay. The accommodations are terrible! I'd met a couple on the way down that did the cheaper "tented" version. There experience was much better- and cleaner. For the price you pay, you'd think it would be a stunning room. It is not. The locals I know in Cape Town informed me what it actually costs a local to do this for them. They tourist price us of course and
I'd be fine if I had a beautiful room with an amazing bed and stunning accommodations. This was 2 dirty not even the size of single bed beds, no frame to them, no skirt on the bottom box spring showing it for all it's dirtiness, a dirty shower, dirty walls, old dirty looking towels (they were clean but the vibe felt gross), everything felt dirty. I paid almost $800 for those two nights & not really 3 days. I thought that would mean a beautiful sleep in beauty. We all chatted over dinner on the condition of what we got and felt the same. My recommendation- book a stunning hotel separately. Book the safari's separately. it'll be the same or cheaper. And you can self drive as well but you'll miss out on the amazing information the guides give. You don't need to be suckered into this - some research and a tiny bit of effort and you can avoid all this bs.

Customer service on a whole new level!
We initially made our enquiry via the Kruger Park website and received a very quick response from Giada. From that moment on she worked tirelessly to deliver an itinerary which met our brief exactly and as this was our first safari, offered excellent advice to ensure we were making the right decisions. As I am based in China, Giada and I often spoke at rather anti-social times for South Africa and regularly on weekends - she made herself available at any time to respond to our (many) questions. Following our booking, Giada kept in regular contact to offer advice and then throughout the trip she ensured everything was running smoothly. I can honestly say that it was one of best examples of excellent customer service I have ever experienced from the start to the finish and Giada was able to not only deliver an amazing itinerary but also pre-empt and anticipate our questions and concerns. Thanks to her hard work and determination to ensure she met our brief, Giada created the trip of a lifetime and I would have no hesitation in recommending her and the team.

Unforgetable experience
From start to finish everything was flawless. Giada at Safari.com was so helpful, always providing a prompt response to my emails, and happy to provide customised options for us. Tydon safari camp is a lovely small camp, good accommodation & food, and a friendly helpful team of staff. The guides were great, Benji in particular, who tracked down some amazing wildlife including our dream leopard! We did a 5 day stay which I think was about the right length of time. Would definitely recommend and would return
