fantastic tour - excellent organization and a super guide
We had a fantastic tour and visited all the famous national parks of the Northern circuit: Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. The organization and communication with Shemeji was very good, friendly and uncomplicated. We had a super good guide, named Allan Richard, who was very attentive, everything well organized on the spots, had a good view for animals and even spoke German. Thank you very much! We were and are thrilled. The experiences are unforgettable for us.

The best Safari company
Our safari with Shemeji was fantastic! Our guide Ely was the best. I don't know how he did it, but we were always on the spot where the animals were. He also managed to get our car in the best position, so we could have a front row view. He knew a lot about the animals and was able to answer all our questions. We even saw a lion eating a prey at maybe 5 to 10 meters distance! Still felt very safe alll the time.
Our cook was also fantastic. He was so creative with the food. We are both vegetarian and always had a very good meal. It wa funny to see how all the guests get popcorn before dinner and our plate was always the biggest in comparison with the other guests.
The communication with Emma was smooth and she arranged eveything fine. We could even store our big backpags at her home, so we only had to carry a small bag.
I would recommend doing the camping. Especially camping in the Serengeti was very special, because you just sleep in the middle of the park, hearing all the animal sounds at night.
Summed up, it was one of the best experiences we had in our trip and I defenitely recommend going with Shemeji safari!

wonderful 8-day-safari tour
summary:
-> exceeded all our expectations!
- Well-prepared Safari tour
- good cars and equipment
- excellent guide and chef, who really want to make the best of your trip
- good knowleadge of animals and landscape
We had a really wonderful safari tour with Shemeji. We did a 8-day tour from the end of September to October and visited the following National Parks: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Arusha NP. On a additional day we went to the beautiful hot springs near Arusha and did a half day hiking tour to some nice waterfalls in the forest (also with shemeji).
The Safari in itself was well-prepared and good-equipped. We were really lucky with our perfect guide Freddy. He has a good sense to find hidden animals and was very good company for us. It was a perfect mix of staying in a "crowded area" to see some highlights very close and driving through remote area and spot cheetah, lion and elefant just on our one. These quiet moments were the best time on safari. Once we could spot a group of 15 elephants (with small children) for over 45 minutes on our one and Freddy did no pressure. In total we have seen so many animals and much closer than expected. Big herds of antelopes, buffalo, zebra, flamingos and also elefant, leopard, giraffe, hippo and many many lions........
We had a good mix of accommodation (tent, tended camp, lodge, hotel) and enjoyed most the camping in Serengeti and on the rim of Ngorongoro crater. Our chef Patrick was great and he cooked always a 3-course dinner for us. The dinner together with our guide Freddy was nice and we had good talks. We had also lovely snacks for lunch every day. We have seen big safari groups and they had just a prefabricated lunch box like on a airplane.
Organizing the tour with the company was easy going. Emma was very helpful and tried to include all our wishes. She is from Europe, but lives in Tanzania, therefore she knows the european demands and standards very well.

3 days in Serengeti and Ngorongoro
Me and my 2 children wanted to go in Serengeti and Ngorongoro once in Tanzania, without prior organization.
After some emails exchanges, I have met Emma in Arusha. She found me a suitable solution for my budget and wishes.
Our Guide (Elie) was very competent, and has made my children happy. The patrick's dishes and logistic made me happy...
The only thing to improve for Shemeji Safari & Tours is the means of payment.
Globally, it was really a great trip !

Safari Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro
Last week I went on a safari with Shemeji Safari & Tours. In 4 days we visited Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. In my opinion the perfect amount of days to visit these parcs. We started at Tarangire. It is a 2 hour drive from Arusha. The whole first day we went on game drive in Tarangire. We saw a lot of animals like elephants, zebras and baboons. Our guide knew a lot about the animals. So we learned a lot from him and we were free to ask every question we liked. That night we slept in luxury tents with beds outside Tarangire. A good campsite with hot showers. The next morning we drove to Serengeti. It is a long drive but we saw a lot on the way to Serengeti because you have to pass by Ngorongoro to get there. It is a beautiful drive. That night and the next morning we did game drives in Serengeti. We saw a lot of special animals like lions and cheetahs. The campsite in Serengeti is simple but it is very cool to sleep in the centre of the Serengeti. Everyday the cook made food for us. Every meal was delicious and enough for everyone. On the last day we visited Ngorongoro. It is very cold in this parc so you need a lot of warm clothes but it is worth it. Also this campsite was simple but on a beautiful hill, very cosy and with zebras next to our tents! In short we had an amazing safari with Shemeji Safari & Tours. The driver and cook were very friendly and showed us a beautiful piece of Africa in four days!

Great Experience with a great guide and excellent lodges
We started our experience with the pick-up by our guide Abdul. After providing us with initial information, we headed towards the first park and were able to get a little more sleep before the actual safari started. Abdul had great communication skills, knowing when to explain things and when to just let us enjoy the environment. We always knew before what to expect of the day and the housing, which made the experience even better. The lodges in the parks were amazing, the staff was always friendly, the food was excellent including the food provided for lunch during the tour. We were lucky to see almost all sort of animals including in huge groups. All in all, an amazing experience with great people during the entire trip.

A Once-in- a-Lifetime Extraordinary Safari Experience in Tanzania
Our private 6-day safari through the Serengeti and Tanzania's incredible conservation parks was nothing short of extraordinary. From start to finish, every detail was handled with care, professionalism, and a touch of magic that made each day unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, our guide greeted us warmly and immediately made us feel safe and welcome. His deep knowledge of wildlife, local culture, and the environment enriched every drive. He seemed to have a sixth sense for finding animals — we saw the Big Five, countless herds of wildebeest during the migration, a graceful leopard on the hunt, and even a pride of lions basking in the sunshine. The Serengeti was beyond words - vast golden plains alive with movement, from zebras, elephants, buffalo, impalas and giraffes to name a few. Hippos was big on my list and our guide knew where all the hippo pools were so I was well and truly blessed. Our luxury lodges and tented camps were exceptional. Every evening we returned to warm hospitality, delicious meals, and breathtaking views of the African sunset across the savannah. The blend of comfort and adventure was perfectly balanced — hot showers and cozy beds after a day of thrilling game drives made all the difference. What truly stood out was the personal touch I received from Neema Thomas, the safari adviser from Shemeji Safari’s who I was in touch with for 18 months, fine tuning this incredible experience and she was extremely responsive throughout the whole journey from my first enquiry to our last safari day. Because of Neema and our guide, every moment felt thoughtfully curated and deeply authentic so coupled with the luxury accommodation and the personal touches, this trip was without a doubt good value for money. If you've ever dreamed of an African safari, do it - and do it privately. The flexibility, the intimacy, and the chance to connect deeply with Tanzania's landscapes and wildlife make it worth every moment. We left with full hearts, thousands of photos, and memories that will last a lifetime. Tanzania is pure magic, and this safari made us fall in love with it completely.

An average agency
The 8-Day Northern Parks Budget Safari Tent was an average trip. Some aspects could be improved to ensure a better or five-star experience.
The driver was an average driver, but they were not a guide. The information provided was minimal and they showed little initiative. Another thing that could be improved is the tour's organization. Some stops, like the Ngare Sero Waterfalls and the Flamingo Lake walk, could be combined into a single day instead of over several days. Their proximity, the easy walk, and the short duration of the excursions would allow for more time to fully explore Serengeti National Park and observe the animals.
Overall, the trip was nothing special. However, if you are looking for a special experience and a guide who provides at least some information, I recommend evaluating other agencies.
