Excellent tour with a great guide!
5/5

Barak was a great guide on my trip to Rwanda and DRC. He speaks multiple languages including English, which is helpful for navigating through situations in East and Central Africa. He always had a great attitude and was always reliable. If any little issue came up (atm took my card) he was able to help me smooth it out promptly. He knows the business and the area very well. Strongly recommend him as a guide.

Easy to work with and great people to be with
5/5

My wife and I went on a 3 day, 2 night trip to see the Golden Monkeys in Rwanda and Gorillas in Uganda. I picked this company due to the option for a shorter trip since we were squeezing it in between a few other countries while in Africa. Barack was easy to communicate with during the booking process. Overall, the price was very solid for the experiences!

We were able to meet many of the workers, all of which were enjoyable to talk to. We were picked up by Barack and Noah from the airport and transferred near Volcanoes NP. The next morning we were picked up by John and Noah to go to the Golden Monkeys - John and Noah were both great! The monkeys were very fun to experience and well worth it.

After the golden monkeys, we had a lunch nearby and went to the gorilla guardian village to learn more about the Rwandan culture. We then transferred to Uganda to stay near the Gorilla experience. The countryside of both countries were beautiful. The lodge in Uganda was very nice (Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge) and food was great.

The next morning we were picked up and taken to the gorilla safety briefing - remember to bring a mask with you for the experience! We were assigned our group which our guides helped influence - we were assigned a family with multiple babies, it was a great experience. We hiked for about an hour or so each way and were able to find the gorillas to a spend an hour with them. Fastest hour of my life! Was a great time.

We then transferred back to Kigali for our late flight. John was able to score us a quick hotel deal to spend a few hours relaxing before we went to the airport.

Overall, we had a lot of driving during the trip, but had a great time experiencing both the monkeys and gorillas. John and Noah did a nice job of chatting with us and letting us just soak in the drives since they were so cool. Would recommend!

Well organised
5/5

As a female solo traveller I was happy to have booked my two days gorilla trek with Rwindi. Diocles understood my situation and wishes and was very helpful. In the morning of the first day I was picked up in Kigali by guide John. We drove to the cultural village and had a blast. Then we went to Dian Fossey center.

Next morning early a pick up by John to help me get to the volcanoes national park center and with finding the right group. He then drove me to the starting point of the hike. After a great great encounter with the gorillas he drove me back to Kigali in the afternoon.
I felt safe the whole trip. I’m glad I booked my trip with Rwind

The best!!!
5/5

I decided only the night before that I wanted to join a gorilla trek day trip, and the team somehow managed to secure a permit for me at the very last minute! Coordination was seamless from pickup to drop-off at my hotel — everything was taken care of, and I didn’t have to think about a thing.

I was completely unprepared (no gaiters or gloves), but they found some for me to use. I also requested to be back in Kigali by 6 p.m., and they made sure to place me on a trek with a fair route and even managed to fit in a quick cultural activity. They also asked for my lunch preferences ahead of time, which was a thoughtful touch.

Overall, an amazing and stress-free experience — highly recommend, especially if you’re planning something spontaneous!

We had the best time at Expedition Rwindi Voyage
5/5

We had the best time at Expedition Rwindi Voyage! It exceeded our expectations. From the start, the staff was very friendly and encouraged us to explore. The whole place was clean, well-organized, and a lot of fun.

We saw so many beautiful animals up close - elephants, giraffes, lions, and more. Some of them even came right up to our car, which was the funniest thing! The guides shared fun tidbits of information along the way, but it never felt too formal or "tour guide-y" - just fun and easy-going.

Overall, this group is truly amazing. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it's 100% worth a visit. We left with so many fun memories!

Unforgettable Gorilla Trekking Experience with Expedition Rwindi
5/5

Our gorilla tour with Expedition Rwindi was absolutely unforgettable. We were lucky to have Barack and Laban as our tour operators and drivers — both incredibly professional, attentive, and warm. They made sure every part of the journey was smooth, safe, and deeply enriching.

The highlight of the trip, of course, was the gorilla trek itself. We spent 75 magical minutes with a family of nine gorillas, including three silverbacks and two playful youngsters. Watching them eat, interact, and play in their natural habitat was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience — humbling, awe-inspiring, and deeply moving. It felt like being invited into their world, even if just briefly, and it’s something we’ll never forget.

Barack and Laban prepared us so well for the trek and shared so much valuable knowledge along the way. Their passion for conservation and respect for the gorillas really stood out.

On our return journey, Laban took us for a lovely lunch in the Ugandan town of Kisoro — a thoughtful and relaxing stop that showed how much they cared about making the whole experience memorable beyond the trek itself.

Expedition Rwindi managed every detail with care — from permits and logistics to transport. We couldn’t have asked for a better team or a more meaningful adventure.

If you're considering a gorilla trek, we highly recommend Expedition Rwindi — and if you get Barack and Laban, you’re in the best hands possible.

We went for game drive in akagera and it was among the best safaris I ever had! The tour was well organized and everything went smoothly and easily;
We even spontaneously rescheduled our tour within the NP after request

Had a great experience with Baraka as our driver and he always had enough water and snacks. He was always 15 minutes early and would highly reccomend him and Expedition Rwindi Voyage. We were only there for a short amount of time and was very impressed with the tour company, Rwanda as a very clean and productive country and the once in a life time trek to see the endangered mountain gorillas. Amazing coffee too.
