Excellent service with a personal approach
5/5

I contacted this company two months before my holiday with the desire to go on a safari in Zambia. Before that, I had safari experience in South Africa, Tanzania and Botswana.
The safari was in April. This is not a popular season for safaris in Zambia - many lodges and parks are still closed, there are few tourists yet. It is considered that this is still the rainy season, although it is the very end of it.
Due to the small number of tourists during the rainy season, there were difficulties with flights. I want to say thanks to "Wilderness Horizon Safaris" - by rearranging the parks, negotiating with the lodges and the airline, they were able to organize all the flights according to the program at no extra charge for me. When flying to Lower Zambezi, I was the only passenger on the plane!
I was in three parks - three nights in Kafue (Mukambi Safari Lodge), three nights in Lower Zambezi and three nights in South Luangwa (Mopani Safari Lodge). In Lower Zambezi I was upgraded to a better lodge than planned (to the Royal Lodge) and it was the most luxurious lodge I have ever been to. The other lodges on the program were also very decent, although I didn't really like the managers at Mopani.
The entire safari went without a single problem. The transfers were on time, the manager periodically wrote to me with reminders about the next steps. Despite the rainy season, I saw many animals for which I came here - wild dogs, leopards, genets and others. I even managed to see a successful lionesses hunt during the night game drive.

Very serious, professional and caring travel agency towards its customers. In a word: EXCELLENT !!!
5/5

A few words are enough to describe my experience with my family (mum, dad and 11 year old) in the national parks of Zambia in June this year: a wonderful country and a fantastic trip !!! And all this thanks to the services booked through Wilderness Horizon Safaris. In my life I have been lucky enough to travel (both alone and with my family) to many countries in the world and to use the services of many local travel agencies: I believe that Wilderness Horizon Safaris is definitely the best agency I have ever dealt with. From the first contacts via email they have proven to be very efficient, timely and clear in their answers to my numerous questions and extremely correct and honest in the prices offered. And when we needed a "change of program" during the trip (transfer by plane instead of by car as initially planned in the agreed program) they were very quick and efficient in resolving everything in an instant as well as attentive in making sure that everything was ok for us. If you decide to travel to Zambia and visit its wonderful national parks, my advice is to rely on Wilderness Horizon Safaris specifying what your needs are, your budget, etc. and they will find the best choices and accommodations for you. Thanks again to Eva, David, Daniel and all the staff of Wilderness Horizon Safaris for the wonderful experience they made us live on our trip to Zambia !!!

I can wholeheartedly recommend Mopani Safari Lodge to anyone looking for an authentic safari experie
5/5

I spent six unforgettable days in South Luangwa National Park, staying at Mopani Safari Lodge. It’s a fantastic place to relax and also a perfect base for exploring the bush on safari.

The chalet I stayed in fully deserves a 5-star rating – it was spacious, comfortable, and always impeccably clean. The staff at the lodge were extremely helpful and attentive, both during my time at the lodge and out in the field while photographing. I especially appreciated how much care was taken to ensure our safety and comfort – something that’s truly important for a wildlife photographer.

The food was excellent – freshly prepared and delicious, whether served at the lodge or during game drives.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Mopani Safari Lodge to anyone looking for an authentic safari experience in Zambia – whether you're a nature lover, a photographer, or simply seeking peaceful time in the wilderness.

They provided wonderful and unforgettable days for us.

The tour was great. We had wonderful guides who showed us so many animals and told us a lot about their behaviour and their way of life. To me these days belong to the highlights in my life.

A few words to describe our experience. Absolutely and utterly perfect!
5/5

Wildernesses Horizon Safaris delivered everything they promised and more. The service was impeccable from the first contact. Eva at Wilderness Horizon Safaris answered all of our questions and gave us all the necessary information to make us feel safe and comfortable before our trip. Our leader/driver Daniel really made our trip special. He was kind and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the Zambian culture just by chatting with him during our drive from the airport. When we arrived at Lower Zambezi we were stunned by the beauty of the lodge and warmly welcomed by the professional staff. The food that was prepared by the chef Jarbis was great and made the experience of the lodge in total even greater. When it comes to the safari we lack words to describe the amount of wild animals we got to see in Lower Zambezi. Our guide John knew almost everything about the animals, birds and plants. His passion was evident and made us fall in love with the nature even more than we already were. In just two days we got to see lions, leopards, hyenas, warthogs, kudus, hippos, zebras and countless elephants, baboons, impalas and birds (the list is definitely longer). John was very confident and knew how to use tracks to be able to find the animals. The experience was magical!

To add, we booked everything at the very last minute and everything was organized to fit into our plans. All in all a safe, comfortable, exciting and once in a life time experience. None of it possible without Wilderness Horizon Safaris. We are incredibly grateful!

Spent three nights at the Lower Zambezi Lodge in Zambia, booked through Wilderness Horizon Safaris. From the start I always received quick and detailed replies, and my questions and requests were always answered. Had to make some changes to the schedule after booking, but that was never any problem. Great customer service! And the safari itself was very enjoyable, at a good lodge in an excellent location!

The review below is the personal opinion of Laszlo and not that of SafariBookings.
He was friendly and told a lot about the country and the people.
3/5

The campsite was on an island, it was excellent: half-tent-half-house accomodation, campfire in the evening and some wine:) The "room" was also more than okay, better than expected (from an island without any electricity). Both David the operator and the staff were nice, I cannot say a wrong word to them. The reason why I rated to average comes from 2 reasons: according to the description "Travelling time from Lusaka to Camp takes approximately 4 hrs 30min to 5 hrs." while it was rather 6-7 hours (not counting the switch of the flat tire); so practically almost 1+1 days spent with just being on road. The other was that we almost did not see any wild animal (at the very end luckily we caught a leopard). Though I know it's rather an question of luck and for that the safari crew is not to blame, but still it was then bit of a disappointment.

Thank you Laszlo for the review, it was wonderful to host such wonderful people like you and your girlfriend.

What affected the entire travel time was traffic when leaving Lusaka because of Lumumba road which is under construction, the stopover for Lunch midway and the off road section in Kafue national park which has been affected by trucks that had used that road.

Not seeing big game more especially Lions was disappointing although as you have stated its a matter of Luck.
Several Lions prides would roar but were elusive.
The two nights safari did not gift us with enough big game sightings, usually the more nights spent the more sightings you see

Despite the big game disappointing the small game were graceful as you saw impala's, puku's, waterbuck's, bushbuck's, warthog's, sable, hartebeest, birds, crocs, hippos, monitor lizard on the river, smaller nuctunal animals, Leopard on the game cruise and another on your way out.

We hope the wilderness will be more graceful next time with more big game sightings.

We enjoyed your company and are humbled to have met such wonderful people like you and your girlfriend.
