Meeting communities in harmony with nature.
I went on a 4 day trip with SimienEcoTours to the Guge Mountain near to Arba Minch.
It was such a unique experience. Meeting communities on the way to the top, eating and participating in daily lifestyle and routines, crossing agricultural land in perfect harmony with nature and being accompanied by kind, knowledgeable, sensitive, amazing guides. It was a one-kind experience. My heartfelt thanks !! I will carry the memories fondly with me.

Very well organized tour !
Best way of visiting Ethiopia is a Tour organized by Simien Eco Tours. Our guide, David, spoke good French and was able to give us all explanations of the places we’ve been visiting.

Everything was organized to our satisfaction.
We went on a short trip to the Simien Mountains near Gondar. Everything was excellently organized – the pickups were always on time, and our guide, Abebaw Tilahun, provided us with a lot of interesting background information about the country and its people. Our driver also got us safely through the sometimes impassable terrain despite the heavy rains. Overall, a thoroughly successful tour that we can highly recommend!

Perfect Agency for Ethiopia
There were five of us travelling with Simien Eco Tours trip for a week in northern Ethiopia. Semera, Erta Ale, Danakil Depression, Dallol, Mekele and finally Lalibela. We felt well looked after the whole time and never felt unsafe for a second. In my opinion, Simien Eco Tours is the perfect agency for trips to Ethiopia.

Discover the marvels of Ethiopia with a great team
Our trip was amazing. We spent 2 weeks travelling and exploring new places from the North to the South of Ethiopia. Our guides, Mareg (for Addis Abeba) and Abebaw were fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable and at all times committed to making this a wonderful experience. Mareg took us on a fascinating one day tour of Addis which included the Shola market and the spiritual sanctuary on the Entoto Mountains, a marvelous spot of peace and prayer away from the hustle and bustle of the capital.
Our guide Abebaw Tilahun was an amazing one: mediator, interpreter, friend. He was always helpful and introduced us to some great culinary traditions of Ethiopia as well as to the important stories and legends surrounding Lalibela, the role of the Christianity and the beautiful wildlife (marabou storks, hippos, crocodiles, flamingoes, egrets, ostrichs, fish eagles, gelada monkeys, Colombo monkeys, and many more). The accommodation we had was generally good or very good, in some cases quite charming! The information provided by guides and operators were always complete and helpful. Last but not least: our drivers too were great: Atakilt was crucial to make it in time to Bole airport and navigating the busy streets of Addis, Abreraw drove us safely in Bahir Dar and the North, in Lalibela we had the friendly Derebe and for the South the amazing Bekele. I highly recommend Simien Eco Tours to anyone who wants to discover such a great and beautiful country. They have the expertise and great people to make this a truly memorable experience.

We’ve just returned from a four-week trip to Ethiopia and are absolutely amazed! We spent the first two weeks in the north, immersing ourselves in the fascinating history of the ancient kingdoms, followed by nearly two weeks in the south visiting various tribes.
The trip was perfectly organized and tailored exactly to our wishes — from the selection of sights to the accommodations. It was especially great that the same guide accompanied us the entire time. We were able to work together really well, and his knowledge of history and nature was extremely impressive. All in all, a fantastic trip — thanks for the great organization!

A trip organized by solid professionals
We traveled for over two weeks from north to south of Ethiopia, coinciding with the Easter rites and visiting sites of major historical, religious, and ethnic significance. Our overall assessment is largely positive.
Excellent organization, well-timed, interesting stops, and appropriate rest stops.
The entire staff, from trip preparation to communication, from the welcome to the intermediate, final, and post-trip phases, demonstrated extreme professionalism and preparation. Everyone proved to be excellent professionals, and even all the drivers were very friendly!
And yet, throughout the trip, we felt supported at all times by a superb guide, to whom we can only pay tribute and applaud for his preparation, his never dull conversations, and his wide-ranging expertise, which demands knowledge and passion for this work and for the country that hosted us. The country's richness of nuances would otherwise be difficult to grasp without such a solid and attentive partner, attentive to our desires and requests. Such well-organized trips make you want to return soon!

Professional and perfect organisation with super guide and driver
To me our trip to Ethiopia has been an adventure in the first place. I didn't have any expectations other than completely relying on SimienEcoTours and their organization. I felt perfectly safe during the trip with our guide Abebaw and the driver Melis and I was well prepared with all the information which we had got before the trip. During the trip we had regular contact with the tour office of SimienEcoTours and had the opportunity to give feedback or ask for changes. Both Abebaw, our guide, and Melis, our driver, were good company during the entire trip and Abebaw did a perfect job as an ambassador for his country. I learnt a lot about Ethiopia and its people and I am sure that I will come back in the future.

Planning our travel with Simien Eco-Tours was an easy and very relaxed process. We had very specific needs and desires for this trip and each of them were looked into with great attention and flexibility. Our trip had to be very condensed and the team worked around our timeframe very well. The guides were amazing (both in Harar and the Simien Mountains), very knowledgeable, relaxed, friendly and pleasant. We always felt safe and were able to enjoy this trip at any time! The choices of accommodation and restaurants were always spot on, and the drivers and cars were very safe. We had been in Ethiopia before so we also know how hard it can be to organise such a complicated trip with our timeframe, but Simien Eco-tours managed perfectly! The safari in the Simien Mountains were the ultimate moment of the trip, our guide was patient and extremely knowledgeable. We loved it!
