Hit every expectation I had as a first timer
Had a great experience with this team at the Safari. Only had one day to spare and managed to find this deal, which is a lot cheaper than booking a car ride. The whole event was organised by Minnie who guided me through it all via WhatsApp messages. She was very prompt with her replies to any of my questions throughout the day.
At first was picked up at my hotel by Isaiah, who was very kind and walked me through the whole day, helped me through the train station to get to the correct train.
The train ride was short and there was AC the whole ride so it didn’t feel too bad.
Once I got off the train, I had the pleasant Yauhubi to greet me and drive me to the destination. We had a great conversation on the way and even managed to see some local villages that sell nice souvenirs. Along the way, we were stopped several times by police who were looking for bribes but Yauhubi managed them really well so they did not bother us.
At the Mikumi park, my driver was Danford, a lovely gentleman with a very keen eye to spot many animals. Everywhere I looked online said that lions were a rare encounter, but Danford managed to spot 5 of them the time I was there, including one hiding inside a bush. Danford was very knowledgeable about the wildlife there and also made me feel safe and reassured. I managed to have an entire ride by myself and Dan lent me his binoculars to use throughout the journey. He even helped me take some great photos.
The only thing I cannot comment on was the food. There was a break in between for food, and the food looked and smelt lovely, but this was during Ramadan and I was fasting, so I did not get a chance to try some.
All in all, really glad I got to have this experience. I think a 1 day trip is enough for people who just want to get out of the comfort zone and have not been before. If you are a regular then maybe a longer trip would be great.

Had a great safari with Jackson as a driver he showed me a lot and told me a lot about animals and gave information. He was very social and very nice. Camp Bastian was also a nice experience

Everything was perfect!
My boyfriend and I went on Safari in Mikumi National park from February 16th to February 18th. Everything was perfect from the train ride from Dar Es Salaam, the drive to Mikumi, accommodation and of course the game drive. From the time we booked our trip we had dialog with Winnie, who made sure we were well prepared for our trip ahead. She sent ut so much information about what to pack and expect on our trip. We also had dialog with her during our trip, which made everything feel so safe and she was always available to answer any question and help us if needed.
We were lucky to get to know Michael who drove us from the strain station to Mikumi, and back again. He was such a nice guy, who taught us a lot about the national park and answered any question we would have. Our game driver Jackson was also super nice, and he made sure we got to experience and see as much as possible during our drive. We felt well taken care of during our trip, and we would definitely book with them again.
Everything felt super personal, and the service was exceptional. Thank you for giving us an experience of a lifetime!

We had such a great time thanks to Kihindo tours. We got a 3 day package deal which had so many varied activities including safari and a waterfall hike. Mikumi makes a perfect 1 day safari! The accommodation provided was great too. Special shout out to Isaya who was our driver and was so kind and accommodating to us, we loved spending time with him!

Amazing day!
We had a one day safari to Mikumi national park and we loved it.
The communication with winnie before and after the safari was also very good.
The tourguide ask us what we love to see to make sure that we see that that day. he explained everything and answered our questions. it was a super beautiful day and we saw many animals that we wanted to see! i would definitely book by kihindo again.

An unforgettable experience!
We visited Tanzania with Kihindo Tours and Safaris in October 2023, and although it has taken us a while to write this review (life tends to get in the way of computer time!), we had to share our experience!
From start to finish, everything was smoothly organized, personal, and deeply memorable. But what truly made the journey special was our guide Isaya. He was outstanding: incredibly knowledgeable, kind, professional, and attentive to every detail. We had fun time with him, spotted animals with an expert eye, and made us feel safe, inspired, and genuinely cared for every step of the way.
Thank you, Isaya and Kihindo Safari, for everything. We would absolutely recommend you to anyone who’s after unforgettable safari experience.

It was a perfectly organized Safari experience with incredible driver, guides and backoffice.
We did 3-days Safari to Mikumi National Park travelling with Train from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro. Everything works perfect in time. Transfer to trainstation, train to Morogoro and the transfer to Nationalpark. Especially noteworthy are the drivers, Jackson the guide and Winnie. Great loveable people who make safari a great experience. We have seen giraffe, antilopes, lions, Gnus, Zebras, elephants, buffelos, Pumba;) and Monkeys. It was a great and almost surreal experience to see them in free nature. Its an absolutly recommendation!

Truly remarkable experience, Kihindo Tours’ guides were incredible!
Honestly where do I even begin - what an amazing experience! Winnie was incredible with finding the perfect itinerary, Isaiah who picked us up at the airport showed us Dar es Salaaam and is an incredibly kind and knowledgeable guy, Jackson was such an insanely competent safari driver (on our private tour, he managed to get us within 2 metres (!!!) of a big lion, and we got to see an elephant baby being breastfed), and everyone else was amazing as well - the stay they had arranged for us in Camp Bastian was amazing for us, and Winnie had even made sure that the kitchen (and even the bar where Edgar the barman was making the most amazing cocktails!!!) was open when we arrived late because we didn’t catch the earlier train. Booking with Kihindo is the easiest decision you’ll ever make… they’re so good one of their previous guests (a famous singer from the Baltics) even made a song about them!!
