Awesome trip to Kenya
We booked the entire trip with Sunnycreek and it was a awesome and flawless planning. James helped us with all the details and bookings. He made sure we understand everything in detail. And then John was with us through out the trip. He was very informative, kind and empathetic individual. He guided us with all the tours and went out of the ways to make things happen. Overall loved it ! Thank you

I would recommend Sunnycreek Safaris to everyone!
Before arriving I was in contact with Maureen to arrange the safari. Her level of customer service was outstanding and made me feel comfortable that I had chosen the right company to book with. She replied to any questions I had instantly and always kept me updated on the itinerary.
The actual safari was amazing. Jeff was my guide and driver. He was great fun and made sure we got fantastic sightings of the big 5. Jeff never rushed the group, allowed us time to take photos and provided any information we wanted about the animals we were viewing. I would highly recommend him and Sunnycreek as a company in general.

Amazing experience!
Sunny creek especially Maureen is very organized and accommodating. Airport transfer was included even after the end of safari. Our tour guide, Jeff is the coolest, chasing lions and leopards. Highly recommended to all those seeking adventures.

James was enthusiastic, responsive, and passionate while helping me set up the tour arrangements
I was a solo female traveler making arrangements with James over WhatsApp only ~1-2 months before the trip. James was reassuring I'd be safe, have an incredible time with memories to last a lifetime, and be able to see plenty of animals. All were true :)
Be advised, when you book solo, you will be paired with other travelers, solo, couples, friends, etc. Most of the time they are nice people but on the off-chance that they are not, have patience, otherwise, pay for your own private safari! :)
Some highlights were seeing 4/5 of the 'big five' and seeing :
baboons mating, hyenas and lions feeding on buffalo, lions cuddling, elephants guarding their babies, a massive heard of buffalos, vultures perching & flying, and pumbas trotting around.
Interacting with locals at the neighboring Masai Mara village was also a highlight! Highly recommend immersing yourself in this experience, as it is truly memorable, heart-warming and eyeopening.
I booked a 5 day safari and saw 4 national parks. Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Hells Gate (where we got to rent and ride bikes) were my favorites.
James gave me the passenger seat in the LandCruiser Jeep, which was such a comfortable car.
(Besides the Tour Guide, food and accommodations, you are largely paying for the vehicle since you are in it almost the majority of the safari, be it driving to & from national parks & accommodations or the game drives themselves. So I'm so glad we had a safe, comfortable & durable vehicle, especially during the African massages :D)
Johny was my tour guide and he was so forgiving while I was filming almost the entire experience. He was passionate about making sure that we had the best angles for photo/video capturing. He has superb driving skills -- (you couldn't pay me to drive in Kenya) -- and has the perfect personality and temperament for a guide.
When I got sick halfway through the trip, Johny drove me to a local clinic and stayed with me patiently & calmly while I was getting evaluated and we returned back to the accommodations. Huge 5 stars for that, I don't know what I would've done without him.
Johny was so knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. It's so clear that it's fulfilling to him to be able to share the gift of safari with his clients and he is born to do this. There were never too many or stupid questions we could ask Johny.
The accommodations we stayed in were really great given that this was a more budget-friendly safari. I had my own room, bathroom (toilets with running water for those wondering), and a bed in every single accommodation. All of the beds had mosquito nets, too. And the staff were extremely friendly.
If you like snacks, I recommend packing bars, fruit & nuts/chips if you think you'll need them throughout the safari.
I'm so glad I chose to support locally, pay direct to James and support his business, and have this experience. There are lots of travel organizers out there and they're way more expensive because there's a middle man. Definitely consider supporting local if you have the option to because it's a sustainable type of tourism.
James & Johny are forever friends. ASANTE!! <3

Seamlessly managed Safari... Our dream vacation made a reality by Sunnycreek, James and John
Sunnycreek safaris did an amazing job customising the itinerary as per our liking. Recommended the best locations and booked in the most amazing properties.
Right from the airport pickup to drop, everything was pre arranged and on time.
Our guide John needs a special mention, he explained about the history of Kenya, the animals, ensured we don't miss out on the big 5 and we were lucky enough to see all the animals at close quarters.
Absolutely recommend them for your Kenya safari.. This is once in a lifetime experience and Sunnycreek definitely ensured that you enjoy every minute of it...
Going back as a happy and contended customer..

A TrA truly Bespoke and Unforgettable Family Experience in Kenyan Wildlife
We are a family of four (2 adults, a 5-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son), and this Kenya safari was an absolutely exceptional, thoughtfully curated experience, perfectly suited for a family traveling with young children.
The tour operator James went above and beyond to create a bespoke itinerary, balancing comfort, flexibility, and incredible wildlife encounters.
Our stay at Zebra Plain River Boutique Camp in Masai Mara was truly outstanding and deserves special mention. The experience here felt highly personalized, with customised lunch and dinner options and special care and genuine warmth shown towards our children, which made us feel completely at home. From our luxury tent, we were delighted to spot giraffes, zebras, and even hyenas, a magical experience for our kids.
The Masai Mara game drives were nothing short of spectacular. We witnessed unforgettable moments including lion sightings, a lion kill, a cheetah kill, a hyena kill, the elusive leopard, elephant herd crossings, elephants enjoying a mud bath, the truly gigantic hippos, Nile crocodiles, along with beautiful zebra herds and graceful giraffe sightings throughout the Mara.
Lake Nakuru National Park was another major highlight. In addition to seeing rhinos up close and witnessing an incredible rhino crossing, we were captivated by the beautiful giraffes of Lake Nakuru, which added a serene and elegant touch to the experience.
Our stay at Ol Pejeta Serena Sweetwaters was equally memorable. The luxury tent accommodation was superb, and spotting white rhinos up close right from our tent, along with excellent rhino sightings within Ol Pejeta Conservancy, was truly special.
A very special and emotional highlight of our trip was our visit to Baraka, the blind black rhino, and meeting Najin and Fatu — the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world — at Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This once-in-a-lifetime experience was deeply moving and educational, especially for our children, and gave us a profound appreciation for wildlife conservation.
Above all, a heartfelt thank-you to our guides, John and Julius, who felt more like friends than guides. Their deep wildlife knowledge, sharp spotting skills, patience, and genuine care — especially towards our children — made every game drive relaxed, safe, and enjoyable. The conversations about culture, nature, wildlife, food with them was remarkable. They truly became a special part of our family’s journey.
We highly recommend this tour operator, especially to families with young children. A perfect blend of bespoke service, comfort, meaningful conservation experiences, and breathtaking wildlife — a truly 5-star Kenya safari experience!

The Legend of the Savannah: Why You MUST Book Papa Johns!
If you are planning a safari in Kenya and want the trip of a lifetime, stop looking and request Papa Johns immediately. We just returned from a week-long safari with him, and I can honestly say he was the highlight of the entire trip.
A guide can make or break a safari, and Papa Johns is in a league of his own. Here is why you need him:
Supernatural Vision: I am convinced this man has bionic eyes. While we were staring at empty grass, Papa Johns would spot a leopard in a tree or a rhino in the brush from a mile away. We saw the Big 5 and so much more purely because of his spotting skills.
Incredible Knowledge: He is a walking encyclopedia of the Kenyan ecosystem. He didn’t just show us animals; he explained their behaviors, the bird life, and the culture. He answered every single question we had with enthusiasm.
Perfect Positioning: For photography lovers, Papa Johns is a dream. He knows exactly where to position the vehicle for the best lighting and angles without ever disturbing the wildlife or making us feel unsafe.
The "Vibe": Spending a week in a car with someone requires a great personality. Papa Johns is kind, funny, patient, and professional. He knew when to crack a joke and when to let us sit in awe of nature.
He turned a vacation into a life-changing experience. To the tour company: Give this man a raise and your best clients. To future travelers: Ask for Papa Johns by name. You won't regret it!
