WORTH IT but room for improvement
4/5

Stanley, the owner, was fantastic for all pre-trip communication, very clear and attentive, answering all questions and reserving a place for us whilst we waited for visa.

The safari trip itself was hosted by a guide from another company which we were not informed about, but the guide Omar was very experienced, knowledgeable and well-informed with great attitude and a big smile. We were so glad we had Omar for our entire 5 days and built a good relationship with him but many other travellers were not so lucky and were thrown around different cars and groups. This was a surprise to us having different people in the car each day as the organisation from the office seemed very chaotic trying to accommodate different itineraries. Unfortunately this practice led to our itinerary being changed around on Day 2 (Lake Manyara first instead of Serengeti). We went along with it and still visited all the destinations but it was less ideal than our original itinerary. Also, we didn’t realise that group tours bundled travellers living in different accommodations (eg. campsite vs lodge) so there was quite some time wasted on driving for pick up/drop off, especially in Serengeti where accommodations were 45mins or more apart.

When we reflected this to Stanley, he was very sorry and did his best to make it up to us. We trust that he will sincerely make improvements for future tours.

On the positive side, seeing the animals - including all Big 5 - in person was an absolutely AMAZING experience, as was meeting travellers from around the world! Accommodation at the lodges was great, clean and comfortable, but be aware that camping public campsite is not for everyone with shared sleeping bags and very basic, sometimes extremely dirty, toilet facilities. A chef came with the group to cook for us and he did a great job with hot lunch and dinner so we were well looked after meals-wise! You definitely do get a good “African massage” from the bumpy roads but the car was comfortable and provided a great view (aside from when it broke down few times).

All in all, some questionable organisation norms and unexpected car issues aside, it was definitely worth it seeing the wonderful animals and the magnificent landscapes!

For first timers like us, we recommend checking with your tour company if you will be with the same guide the whole trip, and if on a group tour like us, whether your itinerary will be honoured. Also, we found that 24 hours in Serengeti is way too short as it is such a HUGE area and much time was spent driving long distance in and out of the park, as well as dropping/picking up other travellers from their accommodation. In hindsight, we would go for an extra night in Serengeti for more dedicated game drive time and to take it all in.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for an unforgettable safari in Tanzania!
5/5

We had an amazing 5-day safari and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Everything was organized perfectly, from the moment they picked us up at the airport until our return.

The safari was beautiful and every detail was taken care of. We managed to see everything and more, including all of the Big Five! A special thanks to our guide Steven, who was super professional, knowledgeable, and always kind and helpful throughout the trip.

The lodges were stunning and made the experience even more enjoyable.

Safari of a Lifetime
5/5

I will start with:
"If I could give this company 10 stars, I will happily do it!"
When we first found this company on safaribookings, we really liked the offers they had, but we were a bit sceptical, because of the low count of ratings. However, we decided to "take the risk" and I can tell you, it was the best decision we could make!
From our tour operator Faith, who was the sweetest and the most helpful in anything we set our mind to, to everyone person from Jambo Bwana we met.
With Faith we took one of their standard offers and then we started to customize it. Faith was finding solution to all our wishes and the communication with her was swift and simply pleasant. She was also there for us during our whole tour and even helped us with some bumps we had with the airline on the last day. She managed to fullfill all our wishes perfectly.
On the day we arrived to Arusha, our two Safari guides(we needed guides that speak different languages, as our group was diverse) Patrick and Zuberi, waited for us with huge smile on their faces, despite our delay.
We clicked instantly with them and started our safari week with big smile on our faces and lot of laughter with our 2 boys:) and kept continue with this vibe our whole tour.
Guys knew all the right spots, where to find the best animal encounters and could spot animals from what seems like 3km away.. We managed to get the whole big 5 within 4 days and many, MANY more, mainly thanks to the boys knowledge.
Patrick knows everything about the animals, their behaviors and the native tribes. Due to his friendly and fun nature and deep knowledge, he is a guy you want to have on board. Zuberi is, despite his young age, aspiring to become an amazing Safari guide aswell. They managed to make our Safari tour the most memorable trip I have ever taken. I have done Safari couple times before and there is no way to compare my previous experiences to what we experienced. From accommodations, guides, sightings, service and all the things you can and also cannot imagine. The tour was once in a lifetime experience. I will never stop recommending them.
If you're looking for an operator, that can make all your dreams come true, this company is your best bet🙌🏽
We are planning to do another one in the near future for the great migration and we already know, who we will be choosing for it.
Jambo Bwana Expeditions and the whole team, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you❤️

4 day an unforgettable adventure in Tanzania
5/5

We recently finished the 4-Day Affordable Safari with Jambo Bwana Expeditions in Tanzania.
Every day brought something exciting and different. Tarangire National Park amazed us with giant baobab trees and countless elephants walking close to our vehicle. At Lake Manyara, we enjoyed spotting colorful birds, hippos, and beautiful forest scenery. The highlight of the safari was definitely the Ngorongoro Crater, because we saw so many animals within a few hours, including lions, hyenas, zebras, and buffaloes. Visiting Materuni Waterfalls was another wonderful part of the trip. The walk through the village and coffee plantation was relaxing and authentic. Our guide was professional, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about the parks and wildlife.

Exploring the Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Kilimanjaro Hike was an amazing experience
5/5

This trip was a wonderful experience with my girlfriend. My girlfriend and I wanted something that was exciting but not too difficult, and Jambo Bwana Expeditions gave us just that on this three-day trip. Tarangire was our biggest surprise - the huge herd of elephants roaming peacefully around us was unforgettable. Ngorongoro felt like nature was moving at a faster pace, with animals everywhere we looked. The experience was intense but beautiful. Climbing Kilimanjaro gave us a unique opportunity to climb and enjoy the scenery. It was quite challenging, but in a positive way. The most remarkable thing was how authentic everything felt. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, but he gave us enough time and full support to enjoy the moment.

Our 3 day trip in Tanzania was best adventure time in our life.
5/5

Our 3-day Tanzania adventure was one of the most memorable trips my wife and I with Jambo Bawana Expeditions. Starting from Arusha, we headed to Tarangire National Park on Day 1, and it was beautiful views and thrilling wildlife. Day 2 took us to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, which honestly felt like a natural wonder of the world. Descending into the crater was unforgettable. Our final day was something different but equally memorable. We visited Materuni Waterfalls, located near Mount Kilimanjaro. The hike through lush green landscapes and local villages was beautiful, and the waterfall itself was refreshing. The traditional coffee experience afterward was fun and authentic-definitely the perfect way to end our Tanzania trip. A big thank you Jambo Bawana team for well planned and everything perfectly organized.

Memorable 3 day with family
5/5

Our 3-day affordable safari with Jambo Bwana Expeditions was very special with my family. We explored Serengeti National Park & Ngorongoro Crater Safari. Our guide was fantastic and very professional. Our kids were very satisfied and laughed with him, he explained how animals move depending on temperature and prey patterns. That made the experience feel educational, not just entertaining. Our guide gave us the perfect and thrilling every game drive. We were really grateful because this was our 1st and very unique safari adventure experience and we enjoyed Tanzania's natural beauty.

My journey to see God’s work
5/5

I have been blessed over the years to do a great deal of traveling, including overseas travel. Indeed, within the last year, I’ve been to Istanbul, Jakarta, and now the Serengeti of Africa. Each place has its beauty, but I can think of none better than the beauty of seeing God‘s work at every term. My Safari was only four days, but we saw so much. My guide Steven was absolutely perfect. He was my perfect companion, making sure that I saw as much as it was possible in what could only be described as an intrepid moment in one’s life. He made sure that I was safe, well rested, well fed, and every step of the way was perfect. The team picked me up in Kilimanjaro made sure that I got safely to my hotel. Make sure that everything about the Safari was well planned before I left, and every detail was covered. The lodging along the way, including the hotel on the way to Serengeti was perfect. The tent camp was also exceptional. I’ve literally had zebras grazing outside my dwelling. I saw the big four and 1 million antelope over my four days. I’m already making plans to bring my boys into this beautiful experience to Stephen, and Brian, thank you so much for the experience of a lifetime.
