Knowledgeable safari passionate guide with great 4 wheel driving skills.
I found/discovered Patrick at the at the airport - thought the vehicle was beautiful and I was operating on a tight time schedule with business meetings. Patrick was a professional, from his original quote to his accessibility on WhatsApp and confirmations of booking. Traveling and booking in foreign countries can be difficult to establish trust. Patrick was fantastic and more over his safari knowledge and driving skills were top notch.

5-Star Adventure with African Barefoot Safari – Our First Magical Trip to Africa!
It was our first trip to Africa, and African Barefoot Safari made it utterly unforgettable with a perfect 6-day itinerary: Hell’s Gate in Naivasha, a thrilling game drive in Nakuru, and three magical days in Masai Mara. Special shoutout to Prajjwal, who planned every detail flawlessly – from seamless logistics to personalized touches that fit our family perfectly. Their amazing hospitality had us feeling like VIPs from the moment we arrived.
Our driver, Patrick, was phenomenal! Extremely knowledgeable about wildlife, birds, and local stories, he was incredibly helpful and great with my two kids (ages 7 and 9), keeping them excited with fun facts and spotting games. Patrick masterfully chased the best animal views, positioning us for jaw-dropping encounters – you don’t just go for the lions and elephants, but all the multiple other animal and bird species, from flamingoes, egrets and eagles to rhinos, hippos, and more.
We were mesmerized by the vast numbers of zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and massive bulls roaming together across the plains, especially in Masai Mara. This adventure has us longing for more trips like this! African Barefoot Safari delivers pure magic – highly recommend for families.

Found ABS on Instagram, read some reviews, reached out to them by leaving a message. (Had asked a few other operators also, some never heard back from, others really slow.)
Prajwal was prompt, responded almost immediately and then something clicked. Felt a sense of comfort, knew I was in the right place, with the right people.
She answered all my questions patiently, gave me lots of options, tailor made the trip according to my preference, budget, time.
From the time the flight landed in Nairobi, I had nothing to worry about. ( A lost bag which never made it is a story for another time!)
Prajwal's team was trustworthy, knew their roles well.
The choice of the camp in Naibisho, Eagle's View was to die for. Impeccable service, great food, and the guide, Steve, extraordinary. He could smell where the animals were! Spotted game like I had never thought possible. Wishlist ticked.
Came down to Base Camp Masai Mara and met Patrick. He knows the national park like the back of his hand. A 4 wheel, fancy Land Cruiser was our ride for the next two days. Loved meeting Patrick, has great connections and always had a friend who told him where the lions had been spotted or where a cheetah was lazing around! 10/10 for the game drives.
Back home now and am already thinking of asking ABS to plan some new adventure.

Excellent Botswana safari with seamless planning, great camps, guides & hospitality.
I had an excellent experience booking my Botswana safari through Africa Barefoot Safaris. From the very beginning, Prajwal was professional, responsive, and extremely helpful throughout the planning process. She was very patient in answering all my questions, accommodating changes, and providing different camp options based on my preferences and budget, which made the whole experience stress-free and personalised.
For my Okavango Delta trip, they arranged my stay with Kwando Safaris at both Moremi Crossing and Pom Pom camps. Both camps were excellent, set in beautiful locations with comfortable accommodation, great hospitality, and wonderful wildlife experiences. As a vegetarian, I was also very pleased that both camps catered well for dietary requirements.
The guides at both camps were outstanding — knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about wildlife. Overall, Africa Barefoot Safaris did a fantastic job organising a seamless and memorable safari experience, and I would happily recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Botswana.

Prajwal is very interested in wildlife so makes it very easy to work with her to visit Africa
I traveled with Prajwal to Uganda to enjoy wildlife and it was a great experience. It was easy to communicate with Prajwal and plan. Accommodations were very clean and felt very safe navigating through Uganda and Rwanda with our guide. The game viewing was excellent and we had no issues with our trip regarding safety, food, accommodation.

We had an incredible experience planning and undertaking our Uganda and Rwanda trip with Prajwal. Her passion for wildlife is unmistakable, and her extensive travels across Africa give her a deep understanding of the region that is reflected in every aspect of the journeys she curates.
From the outset, Prajwal took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for and crafted an itinerary that perfectly matched our interests and travel style.
The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the gorilla and chimpanzee trekking in Uganda. We trekked from Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, which proved to be an excellent choice. The better visibility and less dense vegetation allowed us to fully enjoy our time observing the gorilla family in their natural habitat. It was a truly unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. The chimpanzee trekking was equally rewarding and complemented the wildlife experience beautifully.
We also visited Queen Elizabeth National Park, where we enjoyed fantastic wildlife sightings and stunning landscapes. The entire trip was thoughtfully planned, and Prajwal’s expertise and recommendations helped make every part of the journey seamless and memorable.
I would highly recommend Prajwal to anyone looking to explore Africa. Her knowledge, attention to detail, and genuine love for wildlife make her an exceptional travel planner and guide.

Perfect East Africa Safari Expert : My 28th time in Masai Mara
This is Varun Aditya, an award winning Wildlife Photographer from India. I’m quite known for travelling often to Kenya and Tanzania if you’ve seen my pictures on Instagram.
I just came back home from my 28th trip in Masai Mara. This is my 3rd time using Africa Barefoot Safaris inside Masai Mara and also 3 North Kenyan reserves.
As a professional Wildlife Photographer, all we need is proper expert opinion on choosing the right location, right time and most importantly the animal movements.
The founder Ms. Prajwal Shetty, with her widespread contacts of expert Maasai driver guides in Mara, she never hesitates to update on specific animal movements happening around that shouldn’t be missed. This time I could nail some great shots of cheetah and 4 cubs because of Africa Barefoot safari’s strategic choice of my stay. I could spot them as the first thing, early in the morning right outside my camp. Thanks for your expertise.
They could get me the best deal at one of the top most properties in Masai Mara and Samburu (Buffalo springs). This was my 28th trip and I still couldn’t manage such discount in Masai Mara but these guys managed to get me.
Their 8 years of travel experience in Kenya as volunteers and conservationists was clearly seen.
And guys ! Do you need super private experience in the land of Lions ? With no one around you, Just you, your guide and some huge lions around ? You shouldn’t miss Naboisho conservancy and Lemek conservancy.
They really know in and out of that place.
I followed and photographed a lion pride all alone for 4 nights.

This is my first African trip. We came across Africa Barefoot Safaris on the website and talked with Prajwal. Prajwal, she is the best. She helped me plan my trip and adjust according to my request. She suggested the best camping for us, and it turned out fantastic. She knows our budget and keeps it in the budget.
After we decided to go with Africa Barefoot Safaris, Prajwal always keeps in contact to help us pack for the trip which is very important since this is our first safaris.
Once we stepped into the camp, it was indescribable. The view, the facility, the staff are all amazing. Especially the food, it was delicious (Even I am a picky eater.)

Incredible trip of a lifetime - Thankyou!
We met Praj in Kenya last year on safari and she she told us about her company Africa Barefoot Safaris. When we decided to head off to Botswana this year I knew we had to get in touch with her to help plan our holiday. Praj was excellent in her communication and arranging our trip to the Okavango Delta for us. She kept us informed every step of the way and checked in on us whilst we were in Botswana to make sure everything was going smoothly. As we were away celebrating birthdays and a wedding anniversary, she was very kind to ensure our camps arranged something special to celebrate these milestones. It can be very overwhelming with the amount of Safari companies to choose from however dealing with Praj took out a lot of the stress and anxiety around organising a trip of a lifetime. She is extremely knowledgeable and we highly recommend Africa Barefoot Safaris and will not hesitate to contact them next year for our next African adventure.
