Best guide ever
We had the absolute best experience with Derek, and honestly, we could not have asked for a better guide for our safari. From the very first day until the end of the trip, he made sure that every single moment was special, comfortable, fun, and unforgettable. Out of everything we experienced during this trip, Derek was truly one of the biggest reasons why it became such an incredible memory for us.
First of all, Derek is not just a guide he is someone who genuinely cares about his guests and puts his whole energy into making sure you have the best possible experience. He was always attentive, patient, kind, professional, and incredibly funny. He made us laugh during the entire trip and created such a good atmosphere every single day. Long drives never felt long because he always had stories, jokes, interesting explanations, and amazing energy. You can immediately feel that he loves what he does, and that passion completely changes the experience.
What impressed us the most is how hard he worked to give us the best safari possible. Derek did EVERYTHING he could to help us see the animals and enjoy every moment. Thanks to him, we were lucky enough to see the Big Five, including the leopard, elephant, lion, rhinoceros, and even giraffes very closely during the trip. Seeing a leopard was one of our biggest dreams, and Derek made it happen. His experience, patience, knowledge of the parks, and ability to spot animals are honestly incredible. Sometimes he could notice animals that we would never have seen ourselves.
Every time we stopped to observe an animal, Derek took the time to explain everything to us in detail. He taught us so much about the behavior of the animals, their habits, how they hunt, how they live, the differences between males and females, how ecosystems work, and so many fascinating facts throughout the safari. You can really tell he has deep knowledge and years of experience. He answered every single question with passion and precision.
Another thing that made the experience exceptional was how much he cared about our comfort and wellbeing during the entire trip. He constantly checked if we were comfortable, if we needed breaks, water, better positioning for photos, or anything else. He always tried to place the vehicle in the perfect spot so we could have the best possible view for pictures and videos. He was incredibly patient and never rushed us. We always felt safe, relaxed, and taken care of.
Derek also went above and beyond many times to adapt the experience to us personally. He was flexible, understanding, and always focused on making us happy. You can truly feel that for him, this is not “just a job.” He genuinely wants people to leave Kenya with unforgettable memories, and thanks to him, that is exactly what happened for us.
This safari exceeded all our expectations, and a huge part of that is because of Derek. We will honestly remember this trip for the rest of our lives. If you are looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, funny, professional, caring, passionate, experienced, and completely dedicated to giving you the best safari experience possible, then Derek is the person you need.

Unforgettable safari experience with Derrick — a fantastic guide!
We just came back from an absolutely incredible safari with Pavillion Safaris and Tours, and we cannot recommend them enough! Our guide Derrick was outstanding — friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and always attentive to our wishes throughout the entire trip.
The wildlife sightings exceeded all our expectations: we saw elephants, cheetahs, lions, hyenas, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and so many other amazing animals. Every game drive was a new adventure.
Beyond the incredible sightings, what really made the difference was Derrick himself. He was always kind, understanding, and made sure we had the best possible experience. Communication before and during the trip was smooth, the service was excellent, and the value for money was great.

Peter Went Above and Beyond – Highly Recommended!
We had an excellent experience with Peter and his team. Everything was very well organized from start to finish, and communication was always quick and professional.
What impressed us the most was Peter's willingness to go above and beyond. Before the safari, we accidentally left some of our belongings at a hotel we had booked independently. Although it was not his responsibility, Peter arranged for our items to be delivered to us and solved the issue incredibly fast.
We joined a 6-day Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli safari, and the entire trip was smooth and well organized. At the end of the tour, upon our request, Peter even arranged for us to be dropped off at the Tanzania border instead of the standard drop-off location. He was very helpful there as well and made the transition easy for us.
Peter is reliable, responsive, and genuinely cares about his clients. We would not hesitate to book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone planning a safari.

Most incredible experience
Totally exceeded my expectations!
Maybe I was just naive but it totally exceeded all of my expectations! Pete from Pavillion tours ensured that, the accommodations at Sarova Mara were just wonderful. I was thinking "tent" as in camping on the ground in sleeping bags not huge tents with king sized beds and solar heated water. The food selection was great too- buffet style, lots of choices and always something for everyone even the kids. The weather was perfect! No rain, few clouds. It was pretty warm during the day so after an early morning safari run we would just hang out by the pool until the sun started to go down. Our guide, Alex, was great! We got to see the "Big 5" on our first outing!! Lots of zebra, giraffes, elephants, buffalo, lions, antelope. But I didn't expect to see nearly every animal that would be in the reserve. The hippos at the river were great! Lots of great birds too. My favorite was the lilac breasted roller. I highly recommend Pavillion Safari!

The guide was 100% committed, with vast knowledge, which he was very willing to share and tell about the animals we met. He had a very good orientation in the parks, knew where to look for animals, thanks to which we saw the "big 5" and much, much more. We could observe, take photos and enjoy the views until we said that we could go further. We were taken care from the beginning to the end, brought and taken back wherever we wanted. The organizer and the guide, during the entire trip, asked if everything was OK, if we were satisfied.
The conditions for the budget version we chose, were very good and everything was very well organized, both accommodation and meals. We lacked nothing. Everyone was very nice and helpful.
I am delighted with this trip and I wholeheartedly recommend a safari trip with Pavillion Safaris to everyone. ❤️
