Fantastic gorilla experience and excellent tour operator
5/5

We did a 4-day gorilla safari in Rwanda, which included two gorilla treks and one golden monkey trek. It was a truly wonderful experience, very well planned and executed by Africa Adventures Safaris. Olive was extremely helpful, professional and prompt with her responses to our many questions while planning the trip. Enos was an excellent guide, with a deep knowledge of the region's wildlife, culture and history, which he shared freely.
Transportation and accommodations were excellent. We staying in the all-inclusive Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, which is very clean and comfortable. One warning: it gets VERY cold at night, around 40 F, and the lodge does not have heat. Bring very warm clothes and pajamas. Take your shower in the daytime when the air is much warmer.

Africa Adventure Safaris
5/5

Africa Adventure Safaris offered an exceptional service for our 2-day gorilla tracking tour in Rwanda. They responded promptly to any questions we had leading up to the tour, and our guide was on time, professional and highly knowledgable about the region and gorillas. The tour was fantastic and well worth the price. I highly recommend Africa Adventure Safaris.

Gorilla twins!
5/5

We took a two-day gorilla trek, which actually took less than 24 hours. Drive 2.5 hours from Kigali to Hotel Muhabura on night #1, wake up at 5:30 a.m. the next day to drive to national park entrance, hike in to see gorillas, spend an hour with them, hike out, then drive back to Kigali.

The tour is responsible for getting you to the hotel, arranging meals there, getting you to the national park, and working with the national park guides to get your group on a trek to see a gorilla family. The national park is then responsible for leading your hike, communicating with the gorillas (no joke), and ensuring everyone's safety.

Both the tour operator (Enos) and the national park ranger gave us the best service we could have asked for. In particular, we were under a tight time constraint - had to be back in Kigali by 3pm for a flight - and both Enos and the ranger worked to get us on a shorter, rather than longer, trek to make that possible. Enos was a portrait of good service. The gorillas themselves were everything you could want; you get very close. Our family even had twins!

Additionally, communications with the company prior to arrival were very smooth. They have an assistant in California to help English-speaking folks on USA time zones. They are very quick to respond to emails and calls.

Great trip
5/5

We did a 3 night safari with 1 night and a gorilla trek in Uganda and 2 nights with 1 gorilla trek and 1 golden monkey hike in Rwanda. I would definitely recommend this operator. We were met at the airport as promised and the entire trip was just as described. The Moountain Lodge in Uganda was very rustic but perfect for our needs. The lodge in Uganda was alittle more upmarket but still fairly simple. Both were more than adequate for this type of trip. The treks can be very physically demanding so be in good physical condition. The experience of seeing these magnificent animals up close and in their natural surrounding was a once in a lifetime experience. Our guide David was friendly and helpful throughout. Highly recommend!!

Highly Reccomended, Great Guide/Driver, Great Experience
5/5

We had a four day/three night Safari including Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Inpenitrible Forest and Lion Tracking along with the standard drive and boat ride. It was extraordinary. We were several feet from a family of Mountain Gorillas, including a small baby and mother, a Silverback and a teenage boy who demanded our attention. We were in their home and we were honored to be there. We were twenty feet (in a van this time) from lions. Our entire experience was wonderful. Our driver/guide David was knowledgeable, friendly and creative in figuring out how to make our experience even better.

Amazing experience
5/5

I have just returned from 8 wonderful days in Uganda. When I contacted Africa Adventure Safaris, Anna replied fast to me and in less than 2 weeks we managed to create the most wonderful safari itinerary. She made everything possible to customize our trip, to fulfill best our needs and wishes, to find the best lodges that were in our budget limit.
Everything was perfect! Amazing view from the lodges, wonderful people that took good care of us, tasty food. Also we got a skilled guide, William, with very good knowledge of the African wildlife and I couldn't feel safer with him driving us around the country.

Dream Come True!
5/5

The accommodations were comfortable and very nice (we requested luxury level). The food was good. BUT the staff makes this company first rate! Nelson who manages all the communications and reservations is very responsive answering all your questions and providing all the details to make your trip a success - thank you Nelson. Krish was our guide for our three nights/four days. He greeted us at the airport. Drives very safe. Provides plenty of bottled water. Speaks English. Knows the roads and countries (we visited Rwanda and Uganda). Our luggage was lost by the airline and Krish retrieved it from the airport the next morning and delivered it to us before breakfast. Our gorilla trek was a huge success because we worked with this company that provided everything to make our dream come true! You can check out all the companies but I promise you that you won't be disappointed going with Africa Adventure Safaris. I know we weren't! The vehicle we traveled in was clean. The gorilla trek was a dream come true! Thank you Nelson, Krish and Africa Adventure Safaris!

Incredible Journey; Best Guidance EVER
5/5

There is little that could have been done to make our trip through Africa Adventures Safaris better, other than to make it longer so we could have enjoyed more of the beautiful country of Uganda. [website: www.rwandagorillassafari.com; email: [email protected]] June, at the beginning of the dry season, offered us perfect weather.

Africa Adventure Safaris' representative Anna helped us design such a wonderful itinerary and arranged the details so well. This was the first time we had traveled internationally outside of a tour group, which made us nervous. But she made us comfortable at every step of the planning, and her always-prompt responsiveness was beyond compare.

The very best feature of our travels was our guide-driver, Chris Ngabirano. Of all the guides we've ever had in our travels, he is far superior. He was incredible and made us feel like more than guests...more like treasured friends. He shared his expertise so well, and it was obvious that he enriched our experiences by setting us up with the very best local guides available --his contacts made a huge difference in securing special attention and assistance for us every step of the way. His knowledge of everywhere we went and everything we saw was so enlightening.

Be sure to ask for Chris as your guide-driver because he will make certain you have the best adventure of your life -- that is what he did for us.

Our11-day trip involved myriad successful pursuits for wildlife in a mountain gorilla habituation experience in the Rushaga area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (truly grueling and super strenuous, although with a tremendous payoff), golden monkey habituation experience in Mgahinga, tree climbing lion seach in Ishasha, collared lion tracking and Kazinga Channel cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park, chimpanzee trek in Kibale National Park, walk in Bigodi Wetlands, and quest for the Shoebill Stork in Mabamba Swamp, and we topped it all off with whitewater rafting on the headwaters of the Nile near Jinja.

The lodges Anna arranged were all so beautiful and their staffs all friendly and helpful. Numerous times we said the hospitality industry in the United States could learn much from that in Uganda. The staff everywhere make us feel at home, and were determined to make us welcome and comfortable at every moment. The food served at each lodge was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. All our activities were perfectly handled—every permit and entry ready to go.

We also feel compelled to mention how much the Ugandan people enriched our lives. Their friendliness was beyond anything we've experienced anywhere else we've traveled. Memories of them, particularly of the children with their huge smiles and greetings and waves, will remain with us forever.

To sum it up, we would not hesitate to recommend Anna, Chris and African Adventure Safaris for your trip to Uganda.

Great Trip in Rwanda!
5/5

Africa Adventure Safaris arranged a great trip for us during our week in Rwanda! Our guide was very knowledgable, personable and willing to accommodate our desired schedule and things we really wanted to see! We of course trekked the gorillas, the Sabyinyo Group, and it was a phenomenal experience. After living in Africa for 2 years, it was a pure treat to get a real glimpse into various aspects of Rwanda, the history, the culture, the environment and the animals. There was one day on our trip when we left Lake Kivu and were traveling a full day to go to Nyungwe National Park. Unfortunately, on our drive one of the belts in our car broke and we were stuck on the side of the road. Our guide quickly took a bus into town and was able to get it fixed within about four hours and even bought us drinks and snacks. As a result of the small car issue, the tour company Africa Adventure Safaris cancelled our "middle-range" accommodation for the next two nights and booked us a room at the only 5-star hotel in Nyungwe, and all of Rwanda for that sake. It wasn't necessary at all, but I must admit it was a pure treat after trekking the gorillas! I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a great tour in Uganda or Rwanda!
