It was one great time !

It was 13 of August of the year 2005 in Kenya and we were going south coming from Samburu NP and lake Naivasha, we ended up early on the afternoon on lake Nakuru. First thing we saw from afar was that pink colour that was spread all around in the lake. Our kind and gentyle guide said “flamingos, do you see them ?” It was one amazing sight.
We stayed in one excellent Lodge and enjoyed our tour there. On that wonderful landscape of the lake except of those amazing flamingos and some other birds, we saw rhinos, zebras, buffalos, waterbuks and baboons.

It was one great time !

We spent two days in Tarangire National park searching for the famous tree lions. We didn't spot any lions in tree's but did see a Male Lion mating a number of times. We also got up close and personal with a lot of Elephants including viewing baby elephants. The two camps we stayed at in Tarangire where also a highlight. Both luxury tented campsites which really gave you the impression of being out in the wilderness amongst the animals. Would highly recommend the Kikoti Safari Camp.

Review about Ngorongoro Crater by mpotechin
Overall rating
4/5

The most fascinating part of Ngorongoro is the first look you get upon cresting the rim of the crater. You can see miles in each direction, and down 600 metres to the floor.
Most of the Big-5 is on display – we did not see a leopard, but experienced our only rhinoceros sighting here. But for whatever reason, the feel is more like an extremely large zoo. The animals seem to keep to themselves and not interact with each other significantly.
Also within the Ngorongoro conservation area is a scattering of Masai villages, and it is fascinating to see how the villagers live. Finally, Ngorongoro is the location of Olduvai Gorge, which is an incredible archaeological site for human evolution.

Parks such as Mana Pools in the north provide a unique experience to be able to experience the bush by foot whilst the superbly run Hwange demonstrates that preservation of such large areas of bushland can be done effectively.

We enjoyed our time in Uganda and saw a great variety of wildlife in the three parks that we visited. The weather in late June / early July was great. The food and accommodations at the parks were first-rate. The roads are a little challenging and take time to cover the distance, but add to the authentic feel of being on safari in Africa.
