Dry and hot, but worth to see. Few animals at this time but nevertheless awesome.
Elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, impalas, okapi, dikdiks, baboons, cheetah, ostrich, different birds... to see!
Hot and dry but great weather. Sentrim Samburu camp very nice (warm welcome, friendly people, nice food and accomodation). Umoja women camp not be recommended (unfriendly people, very basic)
Nice game drives, very nice driver, sunrise...

Camp Manager, and he looked after all guests very well. We had relatively junior drivers, who were familiar with the wildlife, but explained less and we had the impression we saw less wildlife than in Meru. The vegetation is hilly shrub land an there is one large river, where lions wait for a catch. The red terrain makes it a great photography area for landscapes. The drivers had less experience dealing with photographer, but still we were able to make a few excellent photo-shots

We went to Samburu for an early morning game drive with a guide. We drove for quite a while without seeing much, but then saw a lion just as we were leaving the park.

Easy to travel around. Lots of wildlife. Samburu people in the area are good to visit.

We had a great trip to Samburu N.P., staying at Larson's Camp. Game viewing was excellent, as was the accomodation and scenery. ***For the present, visitors should be aware that heavy rains have recently caused devestation in the area.

Samburu, we'll come back !
Coming from Lake Elmentaita, where we spent two nights there in the marvellous Sunbird Lodge (*****).
In Samburu we stayed at the Samburu Serena Lodge. Great place to stay.
The early morning game drive is a MUST ! Best chance to see the wild animals.
We did the whole tour with Phoenix Safaris Nairobi (our second tour with them!) , thanx to their staff !

A life experience never to be missed.
Our stay at the Samburu Game Lodge was a life experience I wish I could relive. The warm and hearty welcome by the lodge staff was excellent. The accommodation at the lodge my wife and I had was comfortable, clean, well furnished and beyond our expectation. A timber bungalow set in the bush next to the river within the Game Lodge boundary. On our two day stay we were taken on early morning, mid day and late afternoon safaris, to see the abundance of wildlife in the Samburu Reserve. The food was very good and served by friendly and well mannered lodge staff. Out of all the game reserves we visited Samburu topped as one of the best.

Though not on a migration path, one will not be disappointed with the game views at all.
